I always have a hard time saying this, because I truly and deeply appreciate every single prayer partner that I have each year, but there tends to typically be one person each year that hits the nail on the head. This trip it has been Chelsie’s letters that have been my favorite. Each letter has been so spot on. Topics have been brought up that I’ve never put much thought into. She’s brought out gifts that I never really knew I had, but she can see so clearly. I’m beyond thankful that God has given me a friend like her. Not to mention, each letter is so fun to open up each day! I feel like a little kid ripping open each envelope to see how the letter is folded in a unique way.
We dropped supplies off to the OSANA organization which is part of the church here. They collect supplies that children are able to purchase twice/year at events. They have grown to have 98 kids as part of this program, and it teaches the kids to work hard at what they are learning. The man we dropped supplies off to didn’t know we were coming, and as we hauled the bags in his office he got very emotional. To see the worth of these items in the rawest form was very touching.
I’ve been trying to get a leaf from the Jicaro trees here since day one. I found one at the church today. They are like the living cross here. The seeds are turned into a drink, and the shell is used for making jewelry.
